Where I've Been

I've been quiet for a little while haven't I? I doubt any of you have been waiting for me but in case you have then hiya! I'm here. I've been doing a few things behind the scenes (aka my front room) but I thought I'd let you know what's been happening.

I've been writing - shock - but also I've been submitting lot's of work to some poetry publishers and I've even entered some poetry competitions.

Including (drum roll please) the Oxford Poetry Prize! I know what you're thinking, "Who does she think she is?" (are you singing Fall Out Boy? I sure am.) but honestly, I don't even know. It's worth a shot right? What's the worst that can happen right?

I did take a little trip a few weeks ago and went to Crete! Me and my husband enjoyed a few days doing nothing, resting my 30 going on 70 year old body and seeing some Greek mythology and history! It was a super lovely time but adding that to the house prep we have going on have caused a spasm and I am now writing to you from the bent up, uncomfortable position I call "Pain." All joking aside, hopefully this doesn't last too long and I can move without A) my walking stick and B) wincing and making weird "I'm in pain" noises every step I think.

So yeah, that's life recently: paperwork, pain and poetry. Thankfully two of those things bring me moderate amounts of joy so I can't wallow too hard, which is a shame because I love wallowing.
