Email after email

So it's been the correct amount of time since I originally sent my first children's book to the publishers for me to say it's definitely a no. BUT, fear not. I have sent it to more unwilling publishers this morning so I can continue to feel the sharp twang of rejection that comes from being an author.

I have now written two books for my original collection of children's books and one day I promise you will get to read them. For now, I am biding my time, writing and rewriting, sending email after email just waiting for someone to say "Actually, this is rather good" and giving this little sad-poetry-writing, children's-author-wannabe a chance. Maybe one day, huh?

I've spent so long working with children and studying to get to where I was and that was taken from me due to my silly little body deciding to become disabled. (Yes, I know it wasn't a decision, but it's funny.) So, now I can't actually work with children anymore I suppose writing their stories is the next best thing and if I can combine SEN and writing together, well that's not a terribly second place prize.

This morning I have sent my first manuscript off to two different publishers. Graffeg Books and Flying Eye. Now if you would all like to join in and pray to the publishing Gods with me that would be lovely, you don't have to but, you know I'd do it for you.

You just head on over to Big Thinking Publishing where you can find me in two of their physical poetry anthologies, or head over to the Bluebird Word where I am now sitting proudly online in their magazine! Oh and next month I'll be published with the amazing COPE magazine which I am so, so excited to be a part of.
