Poetry, fiction, all that jazz

I write, I guess. I've been writing, I guess. All this time I've been jotting down haiku's and writing prose and short stories, all this time I've spent saying "Can you read this?" well, this is a accumulation of all that time. Thrown out onto a web page like a desperate grasp for validation and the feeling that I'm being productive.

My poetry is probably what most would call "sad". I write about love, loss and everything in between including that hollow feeling that lingers in the spaces where a human should be. I write about the struggles of mental health and how the world isn't always kind. Chirpy, right?!

This is my incredibly messy notebook, complete with tabs to tell me which idea goes where and complete with scribbling in the back when I cannot make a single coherent thought. (try it, it helps)

What I do around here...

Lately I've been working on a fiction story called 'Faces of Faye' and I am hoping to be getting that to a point of sending to editors/publishers when I am feeling brave enough.

I am also working on a collection of picture books that focus on neurodivergent children and the SEN world. As a qualified SEN practitioner I have put my heart into telling the stories of children that do not approach or understand the world in the same way other people do. I am very proud of these stories and they have been sent to small publishers and I am also looking into self-publishing if, again, I'm feeling brave.
